Sheet Metal & Plate Steel Machine Operator

Location: Chippenham

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:15am – 4:45pm

Hours: 38 hours per week

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Sheet Metal & Plate Steel Machine Operator to join our team in Chippenham.

The successful candidate will have experience working with sheet metal and plate steel, ideally with knowledge of operating Waterjet, Laser and/or Plasma cutting machinery.

The Role

• Operating Waterjet, Laser and Plasma cutting machines
• Cutting sheet metal and plate steel to specified dimensions
• Reading and working from engineering drawings
• Checking dimensions and maintaining quality standards
• Loading and unloading materials safely
• Carrying out basic machine maintenance and housekeeping
• Working as part of a small, friendly team
• About You
• Previous experience in sheet metal or plate steel work
• Experience operating cutting machinery is highly desirable
• Able to read engineering drawings and measurements
• Good attention to detail
• Reliable, hardworking and safety-conscious
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
