Bar Supervisor

Location: Chippenham, Wiltshire
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and experienced Bar Supervisor to join our team in Chippenham. This is a hands-on role where you will lead by example, ensuring excellent customer service while supporting the day-to-day running of the bar.

The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated, and able to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, to meet the needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the day-to-day operation of the bar.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Lead and motivate the bar team to maintain high service standards.
• Assist with staff training, development, and shift management.
• Ensure the bar is fully stocked and presented to a high standard.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages or ordering requirements.
• Handle cash, card transactions, and end-of-day cashing up procedures.
• Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies.
• Resolve customer queries and complaints professionally and efficiently.
• Support management with opening and closing procedures.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a bar or hospitality supervisory role.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive, proactive attitude with a passion for customer service.
• Good knowledge of licensing regulations and responsible alcohol service.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems effectively.

Requirements

• Must be flexible and available to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and well-presented.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Personal Licence Holder (desirable but not essential).
