What makes a good driver? This #ThrowbackThursday, we have a real blast from the past as we reconnect with one of our drivers, Daz. Daz first joined us in 2006 when we were 24-7 Drivers, taking on various Class 2 driving roles after leaving the army. Recently, after several years in full-time employment, when Daz decided he needed a change, there was only one place he could think of, and so we welcomed him back with open arms.
His reliability and versatility are second to none. He’s the epitome of a great driver: always up for a challenge and embraces any situation with a positive, can-do attitude.
Daz fondly remembers working for us back in the day,
“I remember when I was working for Hills, the guys there really appreciated my willingness to help with loading the lorry, even in bad weather.”
Daz was always incredibly dedicated and hardworking. He would often go the extra mile, offering to take on additional work whenever possible. For example, if he finished his last delivery, he would volunteer to pick up another load.
“It just makes sense, if you’ve finished your run and you’re on your way back somewhere, you might as well pick up another load and take it back with you.”
He has such a modest and practical approach, believing in the importance of common sense and teamwork.
Daz is known for his friendly and approachable personality, which makes him very easy to get along with. He’s got a real knack for building positive relationships with our clients and colleagues.
“I love the variety that comes with working at 24-7 Staffing. I’ve had the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients over the years and have been fortunate enough to receive lots of work.”
Daz has, unsurprisingly, exceeded expectations in every role he’s taken on.
“Of course, there are ups and downs in the world of driving, but I genuinely enjoy working with 24-7 Staffing. They’ve provided me with lots of work and have a fantastic team, which is why I’m so happy to be back.”
Drivers like Daz are a rare find, and we’re thrilled that he decided to come back to us. After doing some temporary assignments and being a great asset to the team, we’ve been able to secure him a permanent position, and we wish him all the best for the future.
