Last week, we were thrilled to welcome Will for a work experience placement. Our team enjoyed providing him with a comprehensive overview of the recruitment industry. Will actively participated in different tasks, gaining valuable exposure to the inner workings of the business. Here’s what he had to say about his time with us.
I have enjoyed learning a vast amount about the recruitment industry, something I knew little about prior to work experience week. I have also enjoyed working in a professional environment with the fun and friendly 24-7 Staffing team. I can use the knowledge and skills gained from my work experience in the future when applying for jobs, as well as when interacting with adults.
Here’s what Will did on work experience with 24-7 Staffing:
Monday:
- Processed candidate timesheets
- Processed candidate holidays on Recruso
- Wrote an advert for an IT Technician role using Co-pilot
Tuesday:
- Designed new ID badges and care profiles using Canva
- Designed a digital job advert for an IT Technician role using Canva
- Learned how the profit margins on candidates are calculated
Wednesday:
- Searched for CV’s on Login Melon
- Created a shortlist of candidates for an IT Technician role
- Read the 24-7 Staffing guide to sales calls and objection handling
Thursday:
- Researched different clients in preparation for sales calls
- Planned and carried out a successful sales call to a client
- Took part in the performance monitor meeting in which finances were discussed
Friday:
- Processed candidate applications on Recruso
- Called care candidates and discussed their availability for the week
- Recorded the care availability for the following week on Recruso
The main lessons from my week on work experience with 24-7 Staffing:
- I have seen first-hand how a successful team and company operates daily.
- I have improved my self-confidence by calling different candidates and clients.
- I have developed my IT skills through the use of a variety of different platforms, including Co-pilot, Canva, Logic Melon and Recruso.
- Overall, I have gained an interesting and in-depth insight into the recruitment sector.
