Assembly Operator – Cooling & Ventilation Systems

Location: Andover Hours: Full‑time Salary: Competitive + benefits

Our client manufactures specialist cooling and ventilation equipment and is looking for an Assembly Operator to join their production team. This role is ideal for someone with basic mechanical skills who wants to develop in the HVAC/refrigeration industry. Full training is provided, including refrigerant handling.

What you’ll be doing

• Assembling cooling and ventilation units, including pipework, coils, compressors, and fittings.

• Using hand tools and power tools to build and test equipment.

• Learning to braze and solder copper tubing.
  

• Supporting leak testing, pressure testing, and functional checks.

• Helping with refrigerant charging and recovery (training provided). “Recovering refrigerant from units during testing or rework.”

• Following engineering drawings and work instructions.

• Working safely and maintaining quality standards.

What we’re looking for

You don’t need to be an expert — we welcome applicants with practical skills, a good attitude, and willingness to learn.

Essential:

• Basic mechanical or hands‑on assembly experience (from work, college, or hobbies).

• Ability to use tools confidently.

• Willingness to learn HVAC/refrigeration skills.

• Ability to follow instructions and work safely.

Desirable (but not required):

• Experience with refrigerants (charging, recovering, leak testing).

• Brazing/soldering experience.

• NVQ Level 2+ in a mechanical or technical field.

• Knowledge of manufacturing, ISO, or lean processes.

• F‑Gas training.

• Brazing Experience
